Specialty Store Website & Logo Update

Project Description
I often have the opportunity to work as part of a team at BSquare Web designing websites for their clients.
This particular project was for a quilting (specialty) store and as someone who has made a quilt in the past, it was a treat to work on this website. On occasion, I was also involved in phone calls with this client to better capture her vision and needs. This additional information helped me create a strategic and beautiful website for the shop owner.
Goals:
- Clearly show the in-store classes, descriptions, times and price
- Educate the reader about long arm quilting
- Share images of the wide variety of fabrics and items available in the store
This project involved more than just bringing old content to a new responsive website with new images. The logo was dated and the colors on the old site were reminiscent of Christmas.
Since a brand new logo and brand identity weren’t requested, I kept the icon portion of the logo and instead of a heavy font in line with it, I paired it with a more modern, thin font and stacked the store name next to the icon. This made the logo look more modern and fit in with the overall look of the website better.
(I help with website design. BSquare Web handles SEO on their projects.)
